Our Community - 3rd Dec 2014

As part of our planning our team has been supporting your children as they learn about our wider community and also making important links with the wider community. We have been lucky enough to be given flowers from the Gore District Council garden ladies and then last week we had a visit from the ambulance service.

These people do an amazing amount of work in our community and I approached them to see if they would come and spend some time with your children in a familiar environment. These relationships are such an important way for your children to learn about emergency services and to develop an understanding of the role this service plays in our community.

David and Karen were fantastic giving the children time to come and meet them. It was so relaxed and your children responded so well to this approach. As your children became more comfortable with David and Karen they were invited into the ambulance to have a look around.

We will continue these links with the wider community in other ways so please keep an eye on story park.

Thank you so much to David and Karen for your caring and friendly approach.

Our team are working on having a visit from the fire brigade and the local police which will be so exciting to keep these connections strong
